Police Briefly Shut Down County Road 81 To Arrest Suspect
Brooklyn Park police had to temporarily close part of County Road 81 Tuesday to arrest a man who had threatened to shoot people, police said.
Police arrested the suspect in the middle of County Road 81 near Brooklyn Boulevard shortly after 11 a.m. Northbound 81 had to be briefly closed as a large police presence enveloped the area.
According to Brooklyn Park police, officers were initially dispatched to Luther Brookdale Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, located at 8188 Brooklyn Blvd., for a customer that had returned to the business after making threats to shoot people there a few days earlier.
When police arrived, officers found the man and were “immediately met with active resistance,” police said.
Police said the man ran across County Road 81. That’s when police said officers deployed TASERs and took the man into custody.
