Osseo Council Member Resigns
Osseo residents will have the opportunity to apply for an open city council seat after a member has resigned.
Juliana Hultstrom resigned from the Osseo City Council effective Tuesday, May 27.
“It is with great honor, I served the City of Osseo, as elected council member,” she wrote in her letter of resignation. “I am grateful for the countless opportunities of serving, learning, and growing this honor has entailed. It is with a heavy heart and utmost future optimism; I will step away from my elected council position at this time according to state statute; relinquishing the right to return to office.”

Juliana Hultstrom resigned from the Osseo City Council effective Tuesday, May 27.
Earlier this year, Hultstrom had taken a leave of absence from the council, saying she had been injured in a car crash in November 2024.
“Recovery from this accident is a journey; one which involves more than physical healing,” she wrote.
Her leave began in February, after city staff members said she’d missed about three months worth of meetings.
The council briefly restored Hultstrom to her seat for the May 12 council meeting.
However, she submitted her resignation about two weeks later, ahead of the next council meeting.
Her seat will be filled by appointment. The new appointed member will serve the balance of her term, which ends in January, 2027.
