One Firefighter Injured in Brooklyn Park House Fire

One firefighter was hurt while extinguishing a Sunday evening blaze that damaged a house in Brooklyn Park.

According to the Brooklyn Park Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at 7:19 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, to a home in the 6700 block of 92nd Court on a report of a fire.

Firefighters arrived at the two-story home and found the rear of the home on fire and heavy smoke coming from the attic.

Multiple departments provided assistance to the Brooklyn Park firefighters in their efforts to extinguish the fire. Osseo, Maple Grove, Plymouth and the Anoka-Champlin fire departments sent units to assist.

It took about a half hour to extinguish the fire, as well as another two-and-a-half hours to secure the home.

According to a press release and fire department officials, one firefighter suffered a heat-related injury.

An investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing. However, “there are no indications of suspicious circumstances,” according to a fire department spokesperson.
