New Hope’s Mixly Beverage Co. Expands into Dirty Sodas

There’s a saying at New Hope’s Mixly Beverage Company: no boring drinks allowed.

“We think that no drink should ever be boring,” said Johnna Rossbach, founder and president of Mixly.

The business got its start about five years ago with the founders hand-squeezing fruit for high-end cocktail mixers and selling them at farmer’s markets. 

Since then it has expanded, offering an upscale take on cocktail mixers and mocktails.

“It’s really taking a mixer, an elevated approach to a mixer,” said Rossbach. “So it’s helping people if you really want to keep it simple, add your spirit of choice, or if you’re making a dirty soda, add your favorite pop.”

The company manufactures and bottles its products in a warehouse building off Highway 169. 

Mixly offers ready-to-mix twists on cocktail classics like margaritas and mojitos.

“We really wanted to bring unique flavors that weren’t in market,” Rossbach said. “A lot of the mixers on the shelf are just kind of your standard old flavors — bad ingredients, preservatives. And so we wanted something that was fun yet clean. We also really wanted things to be versatile so whether people were drinking alcohol or not, they could easily make it a cocktail or a mocktail.” 

According to Rossbach, they have a focus on real ingredients, like fresh fruit juices and honey.

Dirty soda mixers are a newer addition to their line, offering flavor mixes like cherry vanilla or mango pineapple that can be added to soda pop.

And they’ve got something in the pipeline for coffee fans as well.

“I’m just really excited to see all the different occasions that we get to elevate, make more fun,” Rossbach said. “So we’ll be expanding into coffee syrups here very soon. So really unique flavors like pistachio and lavender, so just flavors that aren’t currently widely available on the shelf.”

Mixly’s products are available for purchase on their website, as well as on the shelves at several retailers.
