Muddy Mouth Cards, Owned By New Hope Woman, Gets Sales Boost at State Fair

The Great Minnesota Get-Together is in full swing, and fair-goers looking to support a local business can find a unique blend of humor at the North End of the fairgrounds.

Angie McGuire, a New Hope resident and owner of Muddy Mouth Cards, has returned to the Minnesota State Fair for her sixth year.  

“So Muddy Mouth Cards, we’re a Twin Cities-based company that makes irreverent and sometimes inappropriate greeting cards, but they’re for every occasion,” McGuire said. “We think that there’s a card for everybody.”

Visitors to the Minnesota State Fair can find Muddy Mouth Cards at the Homespun Goods booth on the North End of the fairgrounds.

Visitors can find Muddy Mouth Cards at the Homespun booth, where they rank among the top three best-selling items featured from local artists.

Nichole Showalter, senior events manager for Homespun Events, noted that the cards’ bold humor strikes a chord with shoppers.

“Keeping things light, especially in this day and age, and keeping things fun and just remembering to find some joy in life — even if it’s a simple little card — is very important,” Showalter said.

In addition to her standard lineup, McGuire created two special greeting cards tailored for individuals navigating difficult medical diagnoses. All proceeds from the sales of these specific cards will be donated directly to organizations working to fight ALS.

Proceeds from the sale of these two Muddy Mouth cards will go toward organizations that help fight the disease, ALS.
