Minnesota United To Host June 22 Youth Soccer Clinic in Brooklyn Park
Local youth soccer players are in for a treat as Minnesota’s professional soccer team will host a free skills clinic on Monday, June 22, in Brooklyn Park.
The Minnesota United FC is teaming up with the Liberia national soccer team and Brooklyn Park-based nonprofit SARX to offer the clinic to boys and girls ages 6 to 16 years old at Zane Sports Park.
The clinic comes amid the FIFA World Cup taking place in the U.S. and an upcoming international friendly match between the Minnesota United FC and the Liberia national soccer team at Allianz Field on July 26, which is Liberia Independence Day.
Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center have the highest concentration of native Liberians in the U.S., with more than 7,000 in Brooklyn Park alone, according to recent estimates from city officials.
