Camp Arbor Returns to The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes
Summer vacation is officially underway and one local shopping center is doing its part to keep children entertained.
The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove has kicked off its popular Camp Arbor series, providing a space for families to engage in fun activities at no cost thanks to Magnifi Financial Credit Union, which sponsors the event.
For local parents, the event is a welcome opportunity to get out of the house.
“It’s a great way to get out and do a couple of different art projects, meet some other families, interact with other parents,” said Emily McConnell, a Plymouth resident attending the event with her son.
The program offers free art activities, games and treats every Tuesday morning. Organizers see it as a way to engage with the community.
“We have an awful lot of kids in our community, and this was just our fun way to bring them in on a regular basis to come to The Shoppes, have some fun, and, you know, maybe they’ll do a little shopping or go out to lunch while they’re here,” said Linda Sell, marketing manager for The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes.
During the first event of the summer, children participated in spin art and painted rocks to be displayed in the shopping center’s new Kindness Garden.

Spin art was one of the activities offered during Week 1 of Camp Arbor at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes.
Camp Arbor runs every Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. through July 14.
2026 Weekly Themes Include:
June 16 – Week 1 | Spin Art & Kindness Garden
June 23 – Week 2 | Creativity with KidzArt
June 30 – Week 3 | Mandalas & Chalk Art
July 7 – Week 4 | Building Block Project
July 14 – Week 5 | Camp Arbor Games
All events take place on street area between H&M and Lululemon. If weather doesn’t allow for outdoor activities, Camp Arbor will move inside into the space next to Pottery Barn.
