Brooklyn Park Police Seek Shooter in Rollover Vehicle Crash

Brooklyn Park police are investigating a shooting late Monday night that also involved a vehicle rolling over and crashing.

Police said officers responded at 11:40 p.m. to 73rd and Brunswick avenues north, a residential area filled with single-family homes. 

When officers arrived, they located a crashed vehicle that had rolled over. Officers also discovered evidence of shots fired, police said.

Two victims were also located, police said. One was a woman with crash-related injuries. A man was also found with an apparent non-life threatening gunshot wound. It’s believed both were riding in the vehicle when shots were fired.

“Both parties stated that an unknown suspect had shot at them and fled on foot,” police said early Tuesday morning in a crime alert.

Brooklyn Park police searched the neighborhood with assistance from a K-9 unit and a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter. 

The shooter was not located. However, police said a firearm was located nearby.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were no further updates and the investigation was ongoing.
