Brooklyn Center Police Save Ducklings from Storm Drain
All the rain we’ve gotten over the past few days led to some life-saving heroics in Brooklyn Center.
Brooklyn Center police rescued 11 ducklings that were swept into a storm drain on Tuesday along Winchester Lane.
Officers removed the drain cover and borrowed a fishing net from a nearby homeowner to scoop up the frightened fowl and reunite them with their mother.
Brooklyn Center posted about this rescue mission on their social media channels and used it as an opportunity to let people know that the department is hiring police officers and apprentice candidates.
Pay starts at $30 an hour plus benefits. The deadline to apply is May 31.
Meanwhile, officers tell CCX News that they rescued four more ducklings from a storm drain on Wednesday.
