Arrest Warrant Issued for Maple Grove Daycare Worker
A Minnetonka man accused of groping a child at a Maple Grove daycare remains at large.
Prosecutors allege that Ryan Vaughan, 38, inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl at Tutor Time in Maple Grove.
A Hennepin County judge approved a nationwide warrant for his arrest on Oct. 17.
According to the warrant, the victim’s parents met with police in August.
The parents noticed that the victim’s “behavior was off the past several weeks, with [the victim] displaying higher anxiety levels,” the warrant states.
The victim was later interviewed at CornerHouse, where she reported that Vaughan had grabbed her butt and thigh multiple times.
Vaughn allegedly told the victim not to tell anyone about the inappropriate touching.
An attorney for Vaughn filed a motion to quash the warrant.
“Mr. Vaughan just became aware there was a nationwide active warrant out for his arrest through online news articles,” the motion reads. “[He] is currently out of state attending his grandfather’s funeral and memorial service. Mr. Vaughan would like to turn himself in but is concerned about traveling with an active warrant … His entire family lives in Minnesota and he is not a flight risk.”
A judge denied the request.
According to the court filing, he is not currently employed by Tutor Time.
