109th Avenue Construction Begins with Detours in Place
A major construction project is underway at the Brooklyn Park-Champlin border that has taken years to come together.
Construction to convert 109th Avenue into a four-lane divided roadway began this week. It’s a project that will take two summers to complete.
109th Avenue is currently closed to traffic for a half-mile stretch between Zealand and Winnetka avenues. The closure is expected to last through August. Detours are in place.
Significant improvements will also occur at the Highway 169 intersection that will include additional turn lanes and signal upgrades. That part of the project will occur next year.
