In Local Vote 2026, Irene Fernando is one of two candidates running for the Hennepin County Commissioner District 2 seat. She’s the incumbent and is facing challenger Sharon El-Amin. District 2 serves the cities of Golden Valley, Medicine Lake, southeast Plymouth, St. Anthony and north and northeast Minneapolis, including the North Loop neighborhood.
