Robbinsdale’s New Pet-Friendly Event: Pets in the Park
Robbinsdale’s Pets in the Park is a new event that takes the place of Pet and Wheel Parade.
It’s happening on Thursday, July 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Kelly Park.
“We encourage everyone to bring their pets either on a leash or in a container,” said Melissa Steward with the City of Robbinsdale Recreation Department. “We’re going to have all kinds of vendors here, from grooming to get your dog’s nails trimmed. We’re going to have a professional photographer to take pictures of pets. We’ll have crafts and games for the kids. We’ll have an agility course for the dogs, just a variety of things. You can also get your cats or dogs registered with the city.”
The Robbinsdale City Band will also perform at the event.
“Even if you don’t have a pet, we would encourage you to come, and there are other activities you can participate in, listen to the band, play with other people’s pets, and just get them to interact with each other and be social,” said Steward.
City leaders also remind anyone who wants to attend that Kelly Park does not have a dedicated parking lot, so street parking in the neighborhoods around it is the only option.
