Osseo Farmers Market an Opportunity to Grow for Local Businesses
The Osseo Farmers Market opened for the season on Tuesday, July 9. Vendors welcomed in a rush of customers as soon as they opened, and then welcomed in large crowds with that night’s music and movies in the park at Boerboom Park.
“The local community is very supportive of anything local,” said Lillian Troska, a rising Osseo Senior High School senior who owns Lillian’s Cottage Kreations and who plans to be at the farmers market every Tuesday this summer. “They just want to buy-buy-buy and they’re very kind people. You get good traction. It’s not the biggest, but it’s a very good farmer’s market and there’s a lot of nice local people.”
The market will be every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. between July 9 and August 7, and then from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. through September 24, the end of the season.
There is room for more vendors. Those interested can contact the city’s administrative assistant, MaryLou Baier, mbaier@ci.osseo.mn.us or by phone at 763-425-2624, extension 101.
