New Hope Installs Outdoor Exercise Equipment at Northwood Park
Visitors to Northwood Park in New Hope now have a new option for fitness: outdoor exercise equipment installed late last year.
New Hope installed new outdoor exercise equipment in Northwood Park in late 2024.
There are four stations with a total of seven different exercise machines available along the walking path near Northwood Lake on the western side of Boone Avenue.
“The idea is anybody can be out walking along the trails and it’s a lifelong activity, being able to walk, exercise, and being able to add an opportunity where you can stop, do a few exercises, keep moving,” said City of New Hope Recreation Supervisor Aaron Thelen.
There are spaces for wheelchair accessibility, also.
“At each station, there’s a QR code that lists instructions on what the fitness equipment piece is also some instruction on what muscle group it hits,” said Thelen. “Maybe it’s your back, your thighs, your legs, your upper body.”
