Golden Valley Preparing to Unveil New Logo
When you’re in Golden Valley, it’s not hard to spot the city’s logo.
It’s on city publications, staff workers’ shirts and hats and of course, on the water tower.
But that well-known logo is about to change and officials want the community to be part of the branding process.
After about 50 years with the old logo, Golden Valley Deputy City Manager Kirsten Santelicis says the timing is right for a new one.
“With the acquisition of the east fire station, and the new public works facility,” says Santelicis, “We realized that the timing would work out better if we were to run a process and make sure we have something in place as we start to build these new facilities.”
Golden Valley hired a consulting firm to guide them through the rebranding process that launched this spring.
“They spent a significant amount of time building knowledge from residents, from business owners, from visitors about what they know about Golden Valley, what they love about Golden Valley, really trying to understand who is Golden Valley,” says Santelicis.
The public had the opportunity to weigh in at an open house in August.
Mood boards were displayed that showcased the general theme and style of the rebranding project.

Public hear discussion about theme and style used to influence logo at open house.
“They would say things like, ‘I love that font, but I do not like those colors’… or ‘I love those colors, but not a big fan of the icons,” says Santelicis.
Santelicis says it’s been an exciting project to work on and they are nearing the finish line.
“So right now, the anticipated timeline is the end of November of 2026, ideally no later than the end of the year, of 2026 to have a finalized style guide, brand, concept, messaging, etc… and then we can look to start implementing in a phased approach 2027 and beyond.”
