Brooklyn Center Police Department Will Take Your Unwanted Medication
Brooklyn Center police have a couple of options for collecting any unwanted medication you may have in your home.
The police department’s lobby is accessible 24 hours a day, and inside, you’ll find a green receptacle that will accept most medications you wish to safely dispose of.

Brooklyn Center Police Department has a medication drop-off box located in its lobby.
“I think people are looking for a place that’s peace of mind to get rid of their medications that they no longer need,” said City of Brooklyn Center Communications Manager Joe Cardoza. “We just want to make sure we provide that avenue instead of them possibly improperly disposing of it. The drop boxes are monitored by state, local, and federal government agencies and it’s also a safe method of dispose of because your pets can’t get access to it, like in a trash bag. It’s not harming the environment by improper disposal. It’s just a safe way to dispose and it’s closely monitored and regulated.”
Cardoza also said the police department will have a table at the Spring Into Action clean-up event at the Brooklyn Center Community Center on May 17, where they will collect any medications you wish to drop off.
