Zombies a popular choice at Arc’s Halloween BOO-tique
Want to spin some creativity in your Halloween costume with little effort and little money?

Arc's Value Village Marketing Director Molly King says become a zombie.

"Zombies are hot right now, dead hot," says King, who came dressed to the Zombie Fashion Show as a Coco Chanel circa 1940s-turned zombie.

King coordinated a Zombie Fashion Show to show off just how easy it is to become a zombie using your creativity and the Halloween items from the BOO-tique, which opens Saturday, Sept. 16 at all Arc’s Value Village locations.

"You can pull together all sorts of creative pieces," says King. "We really cater to people who want to do something a little different."

Want to become a zombie? Follow these steps to create a one-of-a-kind costume!

Start with boots. Why? Because Zombies must survive the apocalypse and boots are the most practical option.

Make up a story. Having a story on why you are a zombie can help you style your costume. Maybe you were headed to work and were in a car crash, or maybe you are a historical character. Your story can be as simple or as complicated as you wish.

Tear it up! Use a saw or serrated knife to make cuts in your clothes. Roll a dress in leaves to pick up sticks and debris. You want to look like you’ve been through a lot.

Add blood and gore. Add red blood to your clothes and make a 'death face.'

Need to stock up on items for less? Arc’s Value Village offers easy costumes, accessories and fall décor that is restocked daily until Halloween. All profits go to support Arc’s mission of helping people with developmental disabilities.
