The Benilde-St. Margaret’s boys lacrosse team built a 6-1 halftime lead and held on for a 6-5 win over Wayzata in the semifinals of the state tournament. Eric Weber scored two goals and added an assist for the Red Knights.
Wayzata's Brayden Nelson opened the scoring in the game, before Benilde answered with three goals in the first quarter and three more in the second. Trailing 6-1 heading into the fourth quarter the Trojans rallied to score four times including a goal from Alexander Sahli with 25 seconds remaining to make it a one-goal game.
Benilde-St. Margeret's will play Eagan in the state final Saturday at 6 p.m. at Chanhassen High School.
