Big inning carries Osseo past Cooper
A successful squeeze bunt by Cooper provided the only scoring in the first four innings of the Hawks' baseball game against Osseo Wednesday.

That changed in the fifth inning as timely hitting and a defensive miscue by the Hawks helped Osseo put five runs on the board. The Orioles added three more runs in the last two innings to secure a season-opening 8-3 victory.

John Bezdicek pitched six innings and struck out 11 for Osseo.

Cooper hosts district rival Armstrong Saturday at 2 p.m. Osseo starts Northwest Suburban Conference play Tuesday at Totino-Grace.
