The sun's warm rays beamed down Friday on Victory Memorial Parkway in Robbinsdale, melting away remnants of Old Man Winter. Many folks took advantage of the spring-like weather by going for a walk.
Friday's temperatures were close to breaking a record, reaching 45 degrees Friday afternoon. In 1877, we hit 49 degrees on February 10.
"It's a beautiful day today, it's amazing," said Greg Olson.
we'd have snow, instead there's a lot of brown on
the ground, a bummer for folks who really like winter.
"Not to be a complainer, but it seems like, if we're going to be in winter, I'd kind of like to have some snow that sticks around, you know, do some winter activities," said Beth Backen.
Other people made the most out of the day by getting rid of crud on their cars. Vehicles were lined up at Mister Car Wash in Brooklyn Park, but folks didn't seem to mind the wait.
Oscar Martinez of Brooklyn Center says this was the perfect day to make his car shiny and bright.
"I notice there's been a lot of accumulation of salt, and dirt, so I'm kind of glad we're able to get real nice weather so we get an effective car wash," said Martinez.
But let's be honest, most folks would rather be outside playing instead of working on a day like today.
"Try to get off work a little early, so I can enjoy a little bit of this sunshine, take it all in," said Julius Davis of Robbinsdale.
