Armstrong-Cooper has figured out how to win close games in this boys hockey season, and the Wings did it again Saturday.
In a great back and forth game at the Champlin Ice Forum, Champlin Park grabbed a 3-2 lead with 6:30 to go in the third period on a powerplay goal by Brady Swanstrom.
Drew Eid tied the game 3-3 about three minutes later for Armstrong-Cooper, and with 52 seconds remaining Jonah Jangula scored the game winner for the Wings.
The win assured the Wings of the Northwest Suburban Conference West Division title. As it turned out, Totino-Grace's loss to Irondale meant the Wings would have been champions either way.
