Same man believed responsible for three school break-ins
Osseo and Maple Grove police are asking for help identifying a man who may have broken into three schools in the past month. In one case last week, Maple Grove police Captain Adam Lindquist says he ran into workers well after midnight at Maple Grove Middle School.

"Overnight custodians had come in contact with a gentleman walking down the hallway that was wearing a full ski mask and then chased that individual out of the building," said Lindquist.

Police tried to track the man with a police K9, but he got away. Break-ins were also reported at Osseo High School and Osseo Middle School on Dec. 21. Police believe all three burglaries are related.

Photos from security cameras inside the schools showed the burglar. One photo shows a man carrying a pry bar in his hand.

"There's been a lot of property damage," said Lindquist. "I believe at Osseo High School and Osseo Junior High several hundred dollars in gift cards, some petty cash and an iPad were taken."

But Lindquist added the property damage may be a bigger concern because the burglar used a pry bar to break in a number of offices once inside the buildings.

There were also break-ins on Dec. 21 at three nearby Osseo homes. Police are checking to see if the pry bar used in the schools was the same used in the homes.

If you recognize the man in the security photos, you are asked to contact Maple Grove or Osseo police.
