Crimson fall in 1-0 game to Elk River
Maple Grove has hopes of reaching the state tournament this season in boys hockey; the tests they're facing in the North Division of the Northwest Suburban Conference will help prepare them for section time.

The Crimson and Elk River played a tight contest Thursday night, with Griffin Young's third-period goal holding up as the Elks won a 1-0 battle.

Elk River is 5-1 in division games, with Centennial at 5-2 and Maple Grove 4-2. Maple Grove is now 11-4 overall and they host Blaine Saturday.
