Maple Grove downs Armstrong in key boys BB game
Maple Grove is aiming for a repeat trip to the state boys basketball tournament this season, and they've defeated a lot of good teams already this season.

The Crimson, rated No. 2 in Class AAAA, faced a tough challenge Tuesday night on their home court when they faced Armstrong. Maple Grove won 72-64 behind 39 points from Brad Davison.

The win means Maple Grove, Park Center and Armstrong are all 5-1 and tied for first in the West division of the Northwest Suburban Conference.

Maple Grove takes on archrival Osseo Friday. No. 9-ranked Armstrong faces another tough foe Thursday when they meet No. 4-ranked Wayzata in a nonconference game.
