Wayzata girls basketball shooting for big things
Wayzata made good strides last season in girls basketball, and it showed in a game that ultimately ended in disappointment.

After losing twice to Hopkins by 30 points or more during the season last winter, the Trojans led the Royals by 12 at halftime of the Section 6AAAA championship before falling by seven points to a very talented Hopkins squad.

Wayzata returns two very good starters this season: junior post player Kallie Theisen and guard Mimi Schrader. The Trojans opened the season by winning two games to take the championship at the Elk River Thanksgiving tournament over the weekend.

Wayzata plays at Maple Grove Thursday in a game you can see live on CCX Sports channels 12 & 799 in the northwest suburbs and at CCXMedia.org
