Maple Grove's football players became celebrities in their hometown and around the country after scoring three touchdowns in the final 59 seconds to shock St. Michael-Albertville 29-27 in the state Class 6A football quarterfinals.
Head coach Matt Lombardi wanted his players to enjoy it, but reminded them Saturday that there is more work to be done and it's time to forget about that game.
The Crimson now face top-ranked Eden Prairie, a team that beat them 28-7 during the regular season. Maple Grove's players and coaches say they played pretty well against the Eagles the first time but that key mistakes cost them.
Maple Grove and Eden Prairie meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
