Cooper aims for section football title
Two football teams that took their lumps in the Lake and Classic Lake conferences for a couple of decades have rebuilt into strong teams in recent years, and Friday night Cooper and St. Louis Park will play for a section championship.

Cooper is 9-0 coming into the Section 5AAAAA championship, including a 40-17 win over St. Louis Park early in the season. The Hawks shut out Spring Lake Park 23-0 in the section semifinals, while St. Louis Park fought off a Park Center comeback to win 21-18 in the other semifinal.

The teams meet Friday at 7 p.m. at Cooper.

You can see tape-delayed coverage of the game Saturday at 7 p.m. on CCX channels 12 & 799 in the northwest suburbs and online at ccxmedia.org.
