The weather was unseasonably warm for the Roy Griak Invitational cross country meet hosted by the University of Minnesota. It led to race times being moved up, and shortening of the Maroon division high school race to a two-mile distance instead of 5K.
In the boys Gold division high school race, the Wayzata boys placed second behind the team rated No. 2 in the country, Great Oak of California.
The Wayzata girls were third behind Naperville North of Illinois and Great Oak. In addition, the Champlin Park boys placed third in the Maroon division.
