Hopkins outlasts Armstrong in rainy baseball game
Armstrong and Hopkins both hope to contend for the Section 6AAAA baseball title this season.
They battled each other--and the elements--Wednesday at Hopkins.
Morgan Holmes smacked a three run homer to start the scoring in the first inning for Hopkins.
Armstrong battled back in the third as Brayden Gray and Preston Reed had run-scoring extra base hits to pull the Falcons within 3-2.
Hopkins grabbed a 7-3 lead in the bottom of the fourth and then held on as Armstrong put single runs on the board in each of the last three innings before falling short in a 7-6 win for Hopkins.
Both teams are now 2-1.
