Rebels softball ready for big season
The players on the Champlin Park softball team have seen their counterparts in volleyball, football and boys basketball not only reach the state tournament but excel this school year.

The Rebels softball players are hoping to get in on the fun this spring. They return most of last year's team that broke several school records offensively.

The left side of the infield is especially strong, with senior and Toledo signee Brittney Davis at third base and sophomore star Holly Blaska at shortstop. Blaska is drawing interest from major college softball powers. Pitcher Taylor Sloat has plenty of experience and will be helped by veterans at most positions.

The Rebels open the season at Maple Grove Tuesday and have their home opener Thursday against Coon Rapids.
