Champlin Park's Wright honored at school for Mr. Basketball award
Two years ago, then-sophomore McKinley Wright watched his teammate J.T. Gibson be presented with Minnesota's Mr. Basketball award.
Wright's had winning the award on his radar since then, and this season he became the second Rebel to win it.
Wright was presented with the Mr. Basketball trophy Thursday after school at Champlin Park.
His family, friends, teammates, and coaches got a chance to share in the moment.
Wright has re-opened his college recruiting after asking to be released from his letter of intent to Dayton after former Flyers coach Archie Miller accepted the head coaching job at Indiana.
