It's a strong field at the state Class AAAA boys basketball tournament, and even teams that haven't drawn a lot of headlines are dangerous.
Unseeded Chaska aimed for an upset against No. 1-seed Champlin Park and nearly pulled it off. After trailing for much of the game, Champlin Park rallied.
With the game tied at 50-50 in the final seconds, Rebels star McKinley Wright missed a jumper. The ball was batted out to the top of the key and Sam DuBois turned and fired up a desperation shot that fell as the buzzer sounded to give Champlin Park a 53-50 win.
Wright had 30 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Theo John had 11 points and 16 rebounds for the Rebels. Andrew Kallman had 18 points to lead Chaska.
Champlin Park now meets Wayzata in the semifinals Thursday at 6 p.m. at Target Center.
