Money Savers: The 411 on Instacart
Shopping for groceries can now be done in the palm of your hand. If you think grocery shopping is a chore, Instacart provides a way to buy products from your favorite store and have them delivered to your home.

"Your time is valuable and that’s something we can give you back," says Sapna Mitchell, operations manager for Instacart. "Whether time spent commuting to the store or navigating through the store, we’ll take care of that for you and give you back that time."

First, users should sign up for an account that can be accessed from your home computer or smartphone. Then, pick a store in your area where you want to shop and start adding items to your cart. Instacart partners with Whole Foods, Costco, PetCo, Total Wine, and Cub Foods in the Maple Grove area. You check out through Instacart.

"Our shoppers will pay in the store using a payment card and the transaction for you is coming through Instacart," explains Mitchell.

The items are them delivered to your home and you can choose when you want them to be delivered. Standard delivery is $5.99. Instacart also offers an Express Membership, which is similar to an Amazon Prime membership, in that you can have groceries delivered as often as you like during the year. Consumers choose whether or not to tip the Instacart personal shopper.

It’s also worth noting that you don’t have to have a Costco membership to purchase products from Costco. Money savers can also take advantage of promotions and specials offered through Instacart or the store.
