Fans of a Maple Grove coffee shop are eagerly awaiting the opening of a second location next week. Nearly five years after opening in Maple Grove, Daily Dose Cafe will open its latest cafe in northern Brooklyn Park.
As the finishing touches go in at the new Daily Dose Cafe in Brooklyn Park, there's a well established blueprint to follow.
"It should be the same friendly staff, the same great food, our famous
paninis, our famous carmel bars, everything we bake in house, from
scratch," said co-owner, Curt Medina.
Daily Dose co-owners Curt Medina and Ben Havn developed a winning
formula when they opened their first neighborhood coffee shop, near the Maple Grove Hospital five years ago. They created a welcoming shop where
coffee and good food are served together, and loyal fans soon followed.
"We like being the neighborhood coffee shop," said Ben Havn.
"We have our regulars, everyday. It's fun to see them everyday, which is kind of nice, and that's one of the things I'm looking forward to here is meeting the new regulars here [in Brooklyn Park]," said Medina.
The layout of the new Brooklyn Park store will be similar to the Maple Grove shop, though with a larger kitchen space that speaks to the popularity of their menu. There will also be a few additions such as a nook area with bench seating.
"It's going to be kind of nice for groups, book clubs, bible studies," said Havn of the space.
As the owners prepare for a November 2 opening, the Brooklyn Park location near Highway 610 and Noble is right across the street from Woodland Elementary School and situated near a large residential area. It's one of the main reasons Daily Dose believes it has found a good home.
"I think this area needs a good, hometown coffee shop," said Havn.
The Daily Dose Brooklyn Park location is still hiring a few more daytime employees before it opens its doors Nov. 2.
